ABOUT US

Tacos is know as Mexican food and loved by many people. 
But when the founder of WARUDE Yuichi went to Ivory Coast for music tour, he met Lebanese chef and learned that the origin of tacos al pastor was that Lebanese emigrants in Mexico put Shawarma in flat bread! First they used lamb meat, then changed to pork to adapt their local food culture and start putting in tortilla. Ok. He zoomed into the history of tacos and found the article saying the origin of fried fish taco was that Japanese fisherman in Mexico put fish tempura in tortilla. Wow! So tacos is the fusion food of different culture in Mexico. Just like we fuses different world music elements when we play music, as long as it tastes good, we can do anything on tortilla to make good tacos!
Here in NY, people already know that we have rich world food culture and it's perfect place to fuse different elements. WARUDE TACO was born in Brooklyn to makes WORLD fusion free style tacos.

Corn, also called maize, is native to Mexico and was an important crop for Native Mexican and Native American Indian. Today unfortunately more than 90% of corn grown in U.S. is GMO and have negative impact to environment, organic farmers and potentially human health.
With respect to Native American and the earth, WARUDE uses non-GMO organic corn and flour tortilla, local and seasonal organic ingredients when possible, to make quality tacos. WARUDE is the place you can enjoy world fusion tacos and music.

PASTURE RAISED CHICKEN

Big and fat chickens that we see at many restaurants and food stores have been treated with hormones to increase their growth. In our restaurant, we use naturally grown chickens that are raised free-range without growth hormones and antibiotics.
